Venuban Buddha Vihar

Venuban Buddha Vihar is a famous Buddhist pilgrimage site in Agartala. According to popular belief, the idol of Lord Buddha in the Vihara was made in Myanmar and was later transported to the present location. All the popular Buddhist festivals are celebrated here with much funfair, including Buddha Purnima. The Vihar is revered by Buddhists and considered one of the most important in India. Apart from religious significance, Venuban Buddha Vihar is also a famous tourist destination.
