By Train : Agartala is well-connected with the other parts of India through railway lines. After Guwahati, Agartala is the only city in the northeast to be connected with a railway network. The government of India approved a rail link between Agartala and Akhaura, Bangladesh, in September 2011.
By Road : One can reach Agartala by road from any part of the country through the chicken-neck area of Siliguri. Agartala is well-connected by NH-44 and NH44A with major Northeastern cities like Guwahati (785 km), Silchar (460 km), Shillong (686 km), Dharmanagar (173 km) and Aizawl (293 km).
