Chapchar Kut

Chapchar Kut, one of the most important festivals is celebrated in the spring after the forest is cleared for jhum cultivation. This festival is celebrated with vibrancy in the region. Everyone participates in the festival irrespective of their age from children to adults. The locals here dress in bright costumes and wear attractive headgear. They sing and perform a folk dance while making merry in the beat of drums and cymbals.
