Pawl Kut

Pawl Kut is a straw harvest festival typically celebrated in December for two days. It is an act of honouring the deities for the bountiful harvest. The festival marks a new beginning; the people of Mizoram eat meat and eggs while performing a ritual called Chawnghnawt. The children are fed meat and eggs by their mother on a monumental platform and vice versa. This ritual is carried out to cherish and strengthen the bond among the family.
