Hayagriva Madhava Temple, an ancient Hindu shrine, is situated at Hajo, 24 km from Guwahati. This temple was built by the ruler of the Pala Dynasty in the 6th century. The place offers many temples; Hayagriva Madhava Temple is the most significant among those temples. It is situated on the top of a hill; one has to climb the stairs to reach there. The temple is devoted to Lord Narasimha; surprisingly, Hindus & Buddhists both visit here to worship. If you are in Guwahati, include this in your itinerary. Many buses are available for Hajo from Guwahati, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, etc.
