Explore Moatsu

The traditional festival of the Ao tribe, Moatsü is celebrated for three days in the first week of May. This festival celebrates respite after the tough work in the fields, burning jungles, sowing, and the Tsubu (wells). The festival is marked by various rituals, peppy songs, and dances. One can experience the symbolic celebrations of Sangpangtu, where the Ao people sit around a big in their complete best attire and enjoy wine and meat.
