Choekhor Festival

Choekhor festival is one of the occasions celebrated in the West Kameng and Tawang districts. It is celebrated in the 7th month of the Lunar Calendar. The people of the Monpa tribe observe this festival for peace and prosperity. The rite ‘Choekor’ is organized by entire village community to worship for supernatural protection to the crops sown and to drive away evil spirits.
