Explore Galdan Namchot Festival

It is a famous Buddhist festival commemorating the birth and Parinirvana (death) of famous Buddhist scholar Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. This festival is celebrated every year at the Leh Palace, also known as Lachen Palkar, constructed during the 1600th century by Sengge Namgyal.
